Ø
Start this quest by killing golems.. Ø
Rumor has it that the higher level golems yield a better
chance of discovering a mote. Ø
In total, you will need 16 motes to make your weapon. Use
motes on each other (double click like you are using a heal kit or lockpick) to
make a sliver. Two slivers make a nugget. Two nuggets will make a pyreal bar. Ø
To make your ingot, you will need an alchemist to combine your
two pyreal bars. The higher the alchemy skill, the better the ingot you will
make. The recommended skill is 250+. There's a certain amount of chance in this
step. You may find yourself with a lower quality ingot even with a very high
alchemy skill. Likewise, you may luck out and get a better quality ingot with a
lower skill. The higher skill appears to increase your chances of obtaining a
peerless weapon. Ø
Next, find Silencia at the Crater to purchase your glyph
(bring lots of cash). Portaling to the crater is the easiest way to travel, but
if you need to travel by land, come in from the southwest. Look for two stone
pillars topped by fire (65.2N x 10.5E). Wear your fire protective clothing and
look for the narrow "V" slot in the wall of the crater. Run like hell
through the entrance, past the flammas and flares, and keep going, bearing
right. Crater Village is located counter clockwise around the lake at 64.8N x
13.6E. Silencia stands on the top floor of the tower near the lifestone. Ø
Before you use your newly purchased glyph with your
ingot, buff, buff, buff your weapon skill. This is where one of the skill
checks takes place. Bring along a creature mage friend to assist you. Next you
will give your stamped ingot to Silencia's pet Magma Golem. Again, buff before
giving the stamped ingot to the Magma Golem to increase your chances for a high
quality weapon. The
Magma Golem will give you your Altan
Weapon in return for the stamped glyph. Ø
Power-up your weapon with elemental stones. Rumors to the
stones' locations can be found in-game, or you can just look at the coordinates
to the right! To add a stone to your weapon, double click it, target the weapon,
and click. You will get the following message: "You have altered your
weapon!" The Major Stones add elemental damage to the weapons. Major Ø
Stones are much harder to obtain than the Minor Stones. For
example, Jahanna Vault contains Zefers, Flammas, Infernos, Mountain Rats and
requires a high jump skill. Ø
To change the stones, you will need a special tool, found in a
dungeon near the Northern land bridge into the Dires. It is guarded by Tumerok
Scouts, Officers, Priests, Highs and Gladiators galore. The tool breaks after
several uses, so consider making more than one weapon, to eliminate the need to
change stones often! The stones may also break after several uses. Ø
